Top 5 NFL touchdowns from 2011

3 Jan

Jerome Simpson WR (Cincinnati Bengals)

It’s no secret that the Bengals are a bad franchise. With little or no success to speak of, the dwindling Cincinnati crowd are more than entitled now and then to witness  just a glimmer of excitement. Jerome Simpson rightly obliged them with a play more fitting of an Olympic Gymnasium.

Dwayne Bowe WR (Kansas City Chiefs)

Kansas City have been pretty ordinary this year save for one game where they managed to spoil the Packers perfect season. However that wasn’t the only remarkable exploit for the Chiefs this season. Dwayne Bowe, a former Pro-Bowler, came up with one of the more bizarre catches you’re ever likely to see in the NFL.

Randall Cobb KR (Green Bay Packers)

With Aaron Rodgers effectively dominating the Packers near perfect season, its easy to forget that Green Bay are more than just a passing team. The rookie Randall Cobb proved that it’s not only the quarterback that opposition teams need to look out for.

Rob Gronkowski TE (New England Patriots)

Gronkowski or ‘Gronk’ set the NFL alight this season, smashing the record for the most touchdown catches by a tight-end in a single season (17). His combination of immense size and athleticism makes him a nightmarish proposition for any defence, as the Kansas City secondary found out.

Victor Cruz WR (New York Giants)

Cruz was originally undrafted out of the University of Massachusetts. Fortunately for the Giants they spotted a hidden gem, with the second year player accounting for over 1500 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns this regular season. His 99-yarder against the Giants bitter rivals, the New York Jets tied an NFL record.
